About the Forum

As a thought leader on intelligence analysis, and an innovative research institution on intelligence analysis best practices, The Tom Ridge School at Mercyhurst University has embarked on a number of outreach initiatives to capture best practices in the intelligence community. Toward that end, the University's and specifically The Tom Ridge School of Intelligence Studies and Information Science (The Ridge School), hosts a biennial forum in Dungarvan, Ireland, focusing on key intelligence issues from a global perspective.

Dress at the Global Intelligence Forum is business casual unless otherwise indicated on the agenda. Forum name badges must be worn at all times in order to gain admission to conference sessions, meals and social functions.

Press Policy 

Members of  the media wishing to attend the Global Intelligence Forum as  “participants” – not in their capacity as journalists - must request advance approval by contacting Deborah Morton, dmorton@mercyhurst.edu +1.814.824.2552 prior to completing the online registration form.

Upon arrival at the forum, journalists will be required to certify that they are attending as  members of the media. Those attending as participants must certify  that they will  not disseminate any of the content discussed or presented during the conference via any media form (including, but not limited to, print/electronic/newspapers/journals/blogs/forums) without the expressed prior approval of the Tom Ridge School of Intelligence Studies and Information Science.

All attendees will be required to submit a business card and may be asked to present photographic identification. 

Delegate Cancellations & Transfer

Registration cancellation requests received in writing on or prior to June 1, 2015, will qualify for a refund, less a 15% administration fee. No refund will be given on cancellation requests received after this date. Should the original delegate be unable to attend, a substitute delegate is welcome at no extra charge; in this case, please contact Michelle Henderson to update the participant registration details. Any cancellation or substitution requests should be made to Michelle Henderson at +1.814.824.2131 or mhenderson@mercyhurst.edu.

Event Cancellations

In the unlikely event of the forum cancellation for any reason, neither The Ridge School, its affiliated entities, nor its employees, accepts responsibility for travel and/or accommodation costs or consequential losses incurred by prospective delegates as a result of any such cancellation. The Ridge School recommends that prospective delegates arrange appropriate insurance coverage.

For several months, Islamic State militants have been using instant messaging apps which encrypt or destroy conversations immediately.
